EPUBCheck / DAISY ACE validation status and next steps

WHAT WAS ACTUALLY DONE
- All 12 EPUBs in downloads/ received a new supplemental local preflight.
- ZIP CRC and mimetype placement/bytes; package structure; manifest/spine resolution;
  XML parsing; local fragment links; duplicate document IDs; basic image-alt,
  document language, table headers and accessibility metadata heuristics.
- NO new official EPUBCheck or DAISY ACE execution was performed. The required
  official validator distributions were absent and could not be downloaded in
  this restricted environment.
- Four original files have separately supplied EPUBCheck 5.4.0 logs that were not
  generated during this run. Exact sample SHA-256 is listed in
  downloads/preflight-v4_4/index.html.
- DAISY ACE, human accessibility evaluation and target-reader testing remain pending.

Run both tools on each exact deliverable. The Ace CLI return code is not a pass/fail
indicator of violations; inspect its full reports. Make note of version, findings,
and exact SHA-256. If issues are corrected, regenerate the EPUB and rerun validation.
Only upload honest verified evidence after running the tools successfully.

WEBSITE / DEPLOYMENT
- This is a source package for Cloudflare Pages. Nothing was deployed here.
- This report provides actual preflight observations, not formal official validation.
- To publish later, upload the entire ZIP through the existing Pages project.
- Original EPUBs, EPUBCheck logs, covers, reader, and QC PDFs are unchanged.
